It's Not Too Late To Have Konnech Removed From Your County.
Ensuring the proper due diligence into Konnech's PollChief is a necessity to ensure Poll Worker safety as America approaches the 2022 Midterm Elections.
Pressure begins to mount on Counties nationwide using Konnech’s PollChief as their Election Management System of choice in the upcoming 2022 Midterm Elections and beyond. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced on October 4th, 2022, that an executive with a Michigan-based company responsible for the software used in managing Los Angeles County election poll workers had been arrested as part of an investigation into the possible theft of personal identifying information of those workers.
Konnech’s President Eugene Yu was arrested for Theft of Personal Data.
To the counties currently contracted to use Konnech’s PollChief EMS for upcoming elections, I ask you to please listen to the people’s concerns. Please take the proper actions to inspect this software with the care and respect it deserves. Protecting American votes and our Election System is each county official’s responsibility. Each official swore an oath to protect you and your vote.
Dekalb County held a vote on October 10th, 2022, and decided to keep its contract with Konnech. The vote finished at 3-2 to keep its contract with Konnech despite National attention surrounding Konnech leaking 1.8 million Poll Worker’s Personally Identifiable Information to China.
How does Dekalb County justify continuing to use Konnech’s PollChief Software without investigating the security issues? Did Dekalb County automatically assume it is a server issue?
This sounds incredibly irresponsible on so many levels.
Fairfax and Prince William canceled their contracts to use Konnech’s PollChief, following both LA County and Detroit. Taking the time and proper steps to ensure the safety of the software should come before any county official’s opinion or any dollar amount.
This is a National Emergency; continuing to use Konnech’s Systems while Konnech is under investigation violates Federal Laws. All equipment and systems integrated with Konnech must be forensically examined for malware, backdoors, and other evidence of tampering. Until Konnech’s EMS system has been totally and unequivocally wiped clean, how can anyone assure the American public this technology is safe? Did Dekalb County perform a full forensic of the software to ensure product safety before making its decision?
Our Founding Fathers fought and died so that we may have free and fair elections. Our votes are a sacred right; protecting this right involves everyone reading this article to stand up and to ensure your voice is heard. This is not a partisan issue. This affects every American, every poll worker that works in a county that uses any of Konnech’s Software. Who knows the effects of any given county’s infrastructure, as the scope of the leaks has yet to be determined?
It does not matter if you are a Republican or a Democrat; the exposure of having your Personally Identifiable Information leaked is equally the same. The only hope the American public has is to stand united in front to protect our local elections and our votes. This integrity should not be broken for anything in the world.
Our freedom and our safety are not worth the risk. At all.
Tell your county to drop its contracts with Konnech until a definitive decision is made to determine whether Konnech’s EMS System is safe or dangerous. Makes calls, attend meetings, forward emails, articles, and videos to your county officials and neighbors. If they are unaware, make them aware. Organize with each other. Come up with the most effective strategy to be heard.
Together you are unstoppable. The only way forward is together.
We must govern the institutions that govern us.
