Judge Hoyt: The Most Biased Civil Case Ever Tried?
An in-depth look into the apparent bias against True The Vote by Judge Hoyt in a Civil Hearing.
On Monday, True The Vote’s Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips were taken into custody after a Contempt Hearing in the Konnech v True The Vote defamation case, which after reading the transcripts, had very little to do with defamation at all. Both Catherine and Gregg refused to leak the name of the third Confidential Informant that was in the hotel room when Gregg Phillips was being shown the PII located on a Konnech database in China, and as a result, were sent to the Joe Corley Detention Center.
Gregg and Catherine have been held in solitary confinement for refusing to release a CI’s name (which is illegal).
I wanted to write this article to highlight the biased and hypocrisy that Judge Hoyt has shown in the courtroom against True The Vote. I have followed many proceedings and witnessed how Judge Sullivan treated General Flynn throughout his trials. I listened to every hearing and read every transcript, and I believe both Judge Sullivan and Judge Hoyt are cut from the same cloth.
What I am about to show you is shocking; this double standard approach from the Judicial System must end.
From the start of this case, Judge Hoyt has had it out for True The Vote. Hoyt has been extremely doubtful towards True The Vote, disrespectful to the defendants and their legal team, often speaking over the defense and not allowing the defendants a chance to speak. Hoyt has allowed this case to become very political.
Citizens in this Nation are innocent until proven guilty — especially in a Civil Case.
Time and time again, Judge Hoyt seems to disregard True The Vote’s concerns as if their lives do not matter.
Below is an exert from the original TRO hearing where True The Vote’s Attorney (Mr. Akers) describes the fears of releasing a confidential informant’s name that could peak the interest of the Chinese Communist Party. Judge Hoyt immediately disregards these fears as if they do not exist in reality.
It is very concerning that Judge Hoyt appears to brush off the Defendant’s concerns out of fear for the Confidential Informants’ safety. Hoyt is concerned with the name above anyone’s safety. This is odd, considering this is a Defamation case, that whoever the third person who was in the Hotel room hasn't made any public statements accusing Konnech or Eugene Yu or anything.
Next, I want to highlight the contrast and double standards between the same statements about death threats regarding both the Prosecution and the Defendants.
In my opinion, this shows Judge Hoyt’s hypocrisy.
Below is an exchange between Judge Hoyt and True The Vote revolving around death threats that Eugene Yu has received.
Judge Hoyt not only talks over Mr. Akers, but he expresses concerns for his safety, along with Eugene Yu’s safety, stating, “I’m concerned about my own safety, and you all should be concerned too. According to Mr. Yu, he’s the one that ran away from home with his family to try and protect himself, and now he has been arrested. That’s according to his pleadings, I gather. Nobody else has to hide.”
Please note the direct reference to Eugene Yu being arrested in this hearing (as he later states that the case has nothing to do with this hearing.)
Mr. Akers is correct — THAT’S NOT RIGHT AT ALL. And to be honest with you, when Hoyt says, “and you should all be concerned too,” it sort of reads like a threat to me, which is very peculiar.
Now, look at how Judge Hoyt addresses True The Vote’s ‘death threats they have received immediately after Hoyt addresses Eugene’s death threats.
Why doesn’t Hoyt show the same level of fairness and respect to the Defendants?
Judge Hoyt tells True The Vote to expect death threats for looking into someone else’s business by being “nosy.”
May I remind you Kenneth Hoyt is a Judge, and this is also a Civil Case.
What I am about to show you next is even more shocking.
The transcript excerpt above shows that Judge Hoyt is “Not concerned about this man’s safety or security” and more interested in receiving the CI’s name regardless of whether the CI lives or dies.
Not only was Judge Hoyt’s hypocrisy on FULL display, but he also allowed the hearings to become quite political, allowing the prosecution to bring up to 2020 Elections when questioning Defendant Catherine Engelbrecht, which, I may add, has absolutely nothing to do with defamation.
Konnech’s lawyers were allowed to ask, “Do you have to believe the election was stolen from Trump to be considered a Patriot.”
This is so incredibly inappropriate and has nothing to do with defamation. Konnech’s lawyers, along with Judge Hoyt, seem to conspire by allowing this sort of questioning by incorporating Mainstream Media talking points.
If this case weren’t hypocritical and political enough, I would like to show you an exchange between Judge Hoyt and True The Vote’s Defense Attorney. Not only does Judge Hoyt bring up President Trump’s attorney’s being disbarred, but he also expresses his extreme doubts about True The Vote’s work, claiming they are “playing games” and misleading their legal defense team.
Judge Hoyt won’t even allow the Defendants to phone in the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, stating, “I can’t talk to them. They are not in this case.” — Despite Eugene being arrested for the same crimes that both Catherine and Gregg alleged Konnech and Eugene Yu of committing. Of course, this is relevant information regarding defamation.
Remember when I told you to remember where Judge Hoyt mentions Eugene’s arrest earlier in this article? Why was it okay for him to reference the LADA case when it benefits Konnech but not when it pertains to True The Vote?
Judge Hoyt, it looks like you allowed this Civil Hearing to become political, unfair and one sided.
In my opinion, Hoyt displays a conflict of interest based on his political viewpoints.
Equal justice under the law?
I do not think so.
Has Judge Hoyt’s clear bias and hypocrisy towards True The Vote and his political views tainted the Court of Law?
If so, as a result, Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips currently sit in solitary confinement, days away from an election when the ONLY thing Judge Hoyt had to do was phone the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office or call the FBI.
Both Catherine and Gregg are leaders in Election Integrity. I hope Judge Hoyt does not interfere with their rights to vote on Tuesday November 8th, 2022.

I read through the transcript yesterday and was appalled. You have done a nice job of summarizing it. I am in disbelief that our judicial system has gotten this out of hand.
I think people should call his office: (713) 250 - 5613 or email his court clerk: cynthia_horace@txs.uscourts.gov and respectfully let him know what a douche canoe he is. We, as Patriots cannot stand by and let this happen. These corrupt, biased judges have got to go! Catherine and Gregg have put so much on the line for our country and this is how they are treated? It is infuriating!
